Oklahoma is a beacon of hope in our nation. Yet, I believe we can do better. We can ALWAYS do better. Here's where I believe we need to focus:1.) Election integrity. We ABSOLUTELY MUST have free, fair and RELIABLE elections. Without them, we strip our Republic of it's most essential quality: the voice of the people. We need a forensic audit in this state NOW! I don't care if we are the "reddest state in the Union." I want to KNOW that no votes are being tampered with. And if there is tampering of votes, we need to prosecute those doing the tampering!
This is not a political talking point. My wife and I adopted our oldest daughter when she was five years old. We had fostered her for two years, and during that process, we were exposed to the DHS system and the rampant brokenness of families across our state. This is a top priority for me because I know that the family unit is the core unit of any society. As the family goes, so goes the nation. We must protect God's design for a stable family unit. Right now, families across the state are being ravaged by poverty, drugs, moral corruption, and domestic abuse. The result? Rising incarceration numbers, rising homelessness, and an increase in the number of kids in foster care. We can do better, and I am fighting to ensure we do.
We must have freedom from masks and vaccine mandates. This is a matter of individual liberty and medical privacy. Everyone should have the chance to choose what is best for them and their families. Those who do not feel safe need to make the adjustments. But we cannot strip away freedoms so that everyone can feel safe. This becomes a lever of control over people, and it will undoubtedly be abused by those who hunger for power. Freedom over safety!
We must take a fresh look at our criminal justice system. Are just looking at punishing criminals, or are we wanting to help people become better? I chose the latter. I want us to do everything possible to keep people out of jail, but if they must go, we need to focus on reform and rehabilitation.
Here is what our state constitution says about Parental rights
Let's uphold our own constitution and determine that parents will remain the sole arbiters of their children's future, education, and wellbeing.
Hospitals need to be a last resort. And they can be if we will take the initiative to emphasize true healthcare by promoting healthy living. Oklahoma is at the very bottom of the nation when it comes to nutrition and physical activity (to see click here). If we allow this, we will also find ourselves at the top of an unwanted list: deaths due to sickness. This must change! And it can! Let's start by reintroducing required physical training and healthy eating in our schools.
